For The Collective Forager, we create Managed Forest Plans, Education walks, and design Food Forests all with a focus on the fungal Kingdom. Can innovation in your field involve Fungi?

At The Collective Forager, we create Managed Forest Plans, lead educational walks, and design Food Forests, all with a focus on the fungal kingdom. Can innovation in your field involve fungi?

Fungi are the hidden architects of thriving ecosystems. Connecting plants through underground mycelial networks, they help cycle nutrients, support soil health, and contribute to the resilience of forests and landscapes. Yet their potential reaches far beyond what we see on the forest floor.

From regenerative land management and ecological restoration to sustainable food systems and biomaterials, fungi offer new ways to rethink our relationship with the natural world. By understanding their role in living systems, we can develop approaches that work with nature rather than against it.

At The Collective Forager, we bring fungal knowledge into practical action. Whether you are managing woodland, developing a food forest, planning an educational experience, or exploring a nature-inspired project, we can help you discover the possibilities beneath your feet.

Every landscape holds a story, and fungi are an essential part of it. Let's explore what becomes possible when we look closer, think differently, and make space for the unseen networks that sustain life.

Our Services

Mycoforestry

If you have 10 or more acres in Ontario we can reduce property tax by 75% with the MFTIP program from the Ministry of Natural Resources. We include forest management practices that develop forest resilience, edible mushrooms and fungal conservation.

Mycology tours

We offer mushroom and fungal educational tours to people within the Greater Toronto Area with or without land access so that people can learn about fungi. GIS probability maps predict localized occurrences of mushrooms to help tours in the concrete jungle.

Food Forest
landscaping

Master plan design for the

seven-layer food forest. This means growing food in extremely dense settings with cherries, hazelnuts, pawpaws, haskap, raspberries and mushrooms in your garden or lawn!
